Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about CrawlHQ.
What is CrawlHQ?
CrawlHQ is a Web Data API platform that lets developers extract structured data from search engines and websites via a simple REST API. It provides Google SERP results, web scraping, e-commerce data, and AI-ready content — all through one API key.
How is CrawlHQ different from SerpAPI or Serper?
CrawlHQ is the first India-focused web data API. We offer native INR pricing (no forex markup), Indian payment methods (UPI, cards, net banking), Indian e-commerce support (Flipkart, Meesho), and low-latency proxies in India. We also provide AI-native output formats and an MCP server for AI agents.
What search engines does CrawlHQ support?
CrawlHQ supports Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and YouTube. Each engine returns structured JSON including organic results, knowledge graph, AI overviews, local pack, shopping results, images, and more. We support geo-targeting across 50+ countries.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The free plan includes 2,500 queries per month with access to the Google SERP API. No credit card required. First 100 signups get 10,000 free queries/month for life.
What is the pricing?
CrawlHQ is priced in Indian Rupees (INR). Plans start at ₹0 (Free, 2,500 queries), ₹4,000/mo (Starter, 50K queries), ₹12,000/mo (Growth, 200K queries), and ₹40,000/mo (Scale, 1M+ queries). You only pay for successful responses — failed requests cost nothing.
What is the SERP API response time?
Average response time is under 1 second for cached queries and 1-3 seconds for fresh requests. We use residential and mobile proxies across India, US, and EU for low-latency, high-success-rate results.
Can I use CrawlHQ with AI agents and LLMs?
Yes. CrawlHQ provides an AI Grounding API that converts web pages into LLM-ready chunks, reducing downstream token usage. We also offer an MCP server so Claude, Cursor, and other AI tools can access live web data directly.
What output formats are supported?
CrawlHQ returns structured JSON by default. The web scraping API also supports clean HTML, plain text, and markdown formats. All responses include metadata like response time, cache status, and credits used.
Do you support batch requests?
Yes. The Growth plan and above support batch requests — up to 1,000 queries per API call with webhook callbacks for async delivery. This is ideal for SEO rank tracking and large-scale data collection.
Is web scraping legal?
Web scraping publicly available data is generally legal, as affirmed by multiple court rulings (e.g., hiQ Labs v. LinkedIn). CrawlHQ is a research and monitoring tool. Users are responsible for complying with applicable laws and website terms of service in their jurisdiction.
